Pinewood Fuels are Ready to Burn!
The Ready to Burn Scheme is your reassurance as a consumer that your wood fuel is dry and ready to use straight away.
On 1 May 2021, legislation came into force called The Air Quality (Domestic Solid Fuels Standards) (England) Regulations 2020 which effected most wood fuel suppliers. Essentially this means that wood suppliers are no longer able to sell wet wood. Burning wood that is considered wet creates harmful smoke and particulates to the environment and your own health. The legislation states that all suppliers must be Ready to Burn Certified and that they are supplying wood with a moisture content of less than 20%.
The Department of Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (DEFRA) appointed Woodsure Ltd to run the Ready to Burn Certification Scheme.
The process of becoming Ready to Burn Certified is quite thorough. Not only are the wood fuels independently tested, the supplier is also audited by Woodsure Ltd to ensure that it is fully compliant. In addition to checking that all paperwork and procedures are in order; they also ensure that the suppliers store the wood fuel correctly and that it arrives to you in perfect condition ready to use.
Pinewoodfuels are Ready to Burn Certified for all our Wood Fuels & Kindling.
If you have a wood burning stove or Open Fire it’s important that you use Ready to Burn Certified Wood to do your part in improving air quality for us all and for the next generation.
